For far too long, seniors in B.C.’s care homes haven’t been getting the care they deserve.
We recognize the B.C. government is hiring more workers to help. It’s a good start, but we can do better.
We are calling on the B.C. government to:
- Fix the staffing crisis, with common standards for better wages, benefits and working conditions, no matter where you work;
- Make new care spaces public or non-profit;
- Stop contracting out care and support; and
- Force private companies to follow regulations, meet standards and increase transparency.
